History of Pacific Arts
Pacific Arts has existed for many years.  I have been able to track it's existence back through
consecutive holiday festivals to 1998 , although I am assured by many people whose
Bellingham craft experience outweighs my own that it goes back 20-25 years.  It was originally
a branch off of Allied Arts members who were looking to take their organization in a different
direction.

From what I can gather, it began strongly and continued to thrive for several years.  Since that
time, management has changed hands many times.  I have been involved in the management of
the festival since 2003.  Any vendors who were around "back in the day" and would like to
contribute information about the history of PAHM are welcome to send me their comments
below.
Pacific Arts Holiday Market is an organization that provides a venue for  local artists  &
artisans to sell their work.  It is an approachable, inclusive marketplace where vendors each
sell their own wares, so customers have the rare opportunity to actually meet the person
who created the item they purchase.  This face-to-face interaction between maker and
buyer is an important element of PAHM.

As an integral part of downtown Bellingham, we have recently become a member of the
Downtown Renaissance Network.  This connection gives us a stronger voice as part of
the Bellingham business community.  To visit their website,

Shoppers at Pacific Arts know that their holiday spending is going directly back into the
community and strengthening our local economy.  PAHM is a business member of
Sustainable Connections.  To visit the Sustainable Connections website,
